Twinkle Khanna Biography
Daughter of two of the most celebrated personalities of Bollywood—Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia—Twinkle Khanna grew up in the courtyard of Bollywood. Born on December 29, 1973, this star kid had everything at her disposal to make it to the silver screen with ease. She also had to go through the painful moments as her parents parted ways. However, her debut opposite Abhishek Kapoor in Uff Yeh Mohabbat turned out be a complete disaster. By the time people could write her off, she teamed up with newcomer Bobby Deol and gave Barsaat. Twinkle Khanna, thus, saved herself from being written off as an actress. After Barsaat, Twinkle was supposed to have signed many more good films but none of her movies showed any traces of her pedigree. She kept giving a string of flops like Mr Aashiq and Dil Tera Deewana with Saif Ali Khan and Jaan (1996) and Itihaas (1997) with Ajay Devgan. Before people could lose all hopes on her, she surprised everyone with Jab Pyar Kisise Hota Hai (1998) against Salman Khan and Baadshah opposite Shahrukh Khan. Her performance was appreciated and she came out quite good. Before she could relax back and define her career, two more of her movies International Khiladi and Zulmi (1999) with Akshay Kumar did miserably on the box-office. Her pairing with Akshay on screen might not have earned much acclaim, but off-screen the two were in perfect harmony and complemented each other well. The result was that they tied the marital knot. The movies she appeared in include Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega (2001); Jodi No.1 (2001) ; Joru Ka Ghulam (2000); Mela (2000); Baadshah (1999); Zulmi (1999); International Khiladi (1999); Jab Pyar Kisi Se Hota Hai (1998); Itihaas (1997); Uf Yeh Mohabbat (1996); Dil Tera Deewana (1996); Jaan (1996); Barsaat (1995).
